Arcos de la Frontera is one of the defensive hill villages, know as the White Villages, with cobbled streets and hanging baskets, leading up to the old town where the castle is which was built in the fifteenth century on Moorish foundations. There are excellent views from the castle and the top of the village. The local bars in the labyinth of narrow streets, squares, churches, galleries and museum, make it a great village to explore and have a quiet drink in a sunny peaceful atmosphere.
